Leading Websites To Go Dark Tomorrow In Protest Of SOPA & PIPA

Tomorrow is the day that many of the world’s leading websites, including Wikipedia, go black for 24 hours in protest of the proposed pieces of legislation known as SOPA and PIPA. These bills were crafted with the help of many Hollywood entertainment companies as a response to what they see as rampant piracy across the globe. Opponents of the bill, including Karmic Hosting, contend that they are a gross over reach and could, in fact, adversely impact the very founding ethos of the internet, namely, free and unfettered access to content. As we have said over and over again, piracy is a scourge and should be fought every step of the way but you cannot fight a legitimate problem through illegitimate means. These twin monstrosities are a grave threat to our fundamental liberties and we support our net brethren in this long, hard slog to defeat these poorly thought out “solutions.” Hopefully the powers that be in Washington D.C. hear our loud, collective opposition and will decide accordingly.
